Adam Braun served as Deputy Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General’s office and has a long record of fighting for Illinois families.

As Deputy Attorney General, Adam worked with Democratic Attorneys General across the country to stand up to the Trump Administration, served in national leadership to hold big pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in the opioid epidemic, and built the first statewide crime gun tracing platform in the nation. Adam’s efforts generated over $10 billion to combat opioids and fentanyl and helped law enforcement fight gun trafficking. Under his leadership, the legislature passed the Preventing Youth Vaping Act to protect kids from predatory vaping companies and the Firearm Industry Responsibility Act to hold the gun industry accountable for its illegal activities.

Before Adam joined the Attorney General’s office, Adam worked with families across Illinois to take on powerful insurance company lobbyists to pass legislation requiring insurers to cover hearing instruments for children under the age of 18. Because of these efforts, children across the state now have access to hearing aids.

Adam also served on the board of the Foundation for Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation and the Illinois Holocaust and Genocide Commission.

Adam is a Chicago Public School parent. He lives with his spouse and children in Uptown.
  • Help ease the cost of living: Everyday costs like groceries, gas, electricity, and childcare are getting too expensive for regular people. I will fight against junk fees so families keep more of what they earn, fully fund the social services that people rely on to put food on the table, and fix our tax system so the wealthy pay their fair share.
  • Stand up to Trump and take on ICE: I will oppose ICE’s illegal tactics and protect Chicago’s vulnerable communities by banning ICE’s use of masks, and banning them from raiding schools, churches, and daycares.
  • Make healthcare fair and affordable: When my son was born with a rare genetic disorder and our insurance company refused to cover a necessary medical device, I had to fight for coverage while my child was still in the NICU. I’ll protect Illinois from Trump’s healthcare cuts and stop insurers and drug companies from taking advantage of patients.
