What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Change the perspective of the Addiction epidemic from a criminal issue into a mental health issue, Legalize Industrial Hemp/Cannabis, Create new Jobs.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I have a strong passion and desire to protect the constitution, particularly the Bill of Rights.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
I look up to our founding fathers. I believe that they knew what they were doing when they founded our nation.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
The ability to think critically with an open mind and open ears. A good leader should not pretend to know everything but instead always be willing to learn something new.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I enjoy problem solving. I also enjoy friendly debate in order to learn and teach at the same time in an effort to find effective solutions to complicated problems.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To improve the quality of life of the citizens in the community.
What legacy would you like to leave?
I want to pave the way for a healthier method of addiction treatment without the burdens of the criminal justice system's involvement. I intend to sponsor legislation that leads to the creation of thousands of new livable wage jobs. I will do everything in my power to leave Maryland better than the way I found it.
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
The day that the World Wide Web was released publicly we had a celebratory family dinner to mark the occasion. My father Glenn Randers-Pehrson is a highly influential program writer who worked countless hours to make the internet as we know it possible.
Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.
Yes, that's the way it is supposed to work. I want to get to know everyone and talk about the issues with them.
What process do you favor for redistricting?
To be done by a nonpartisan comity without any knowledge of voter registrations or voting habits.
If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?
Education, Health and Environmental affairs comity, Environment and Transportation comity, Judicial Proceedings comity, Health and Government operations comity and the Special comity on Substance abuse.
