Joan A. Lewis
Joan A. Lewis is a former Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 8 from 2003 to 2011. She served as Assistant Majority Whip in her final term and was also Assistant Majority Leader.
Biography
Lewis' professional experience includes working as an Estate Planning Paralegal for Kahan, Kerensky & Cupossela.
Lewis is a member of the Coventry Democratic Town Committee, Coventry Historical Society, Co-President/Founder of the Coventry Scholarship Foundation Trust, a member of the Coventry School Readiness Council, on the Board of Corporators of Rockville Bank and a member of Women in Government.[1]

Lewis ran for re-election to the 8th District seat in 2010. She was defeated by Timothy J. Ackert (R) in the November 2 general election.
2008
In 2008, Lewis won re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 8th District, defeating Timothy Ackert (R). Lewis received 6,679 votes in the election while Ackert received 5,845 votes.[2] Lewis raised $29,850 for her campaign; Ackert raised $29,424.[3]
