Campaign themes

2016

Hollander's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

  • Education: Will knows that growing Oklahoma’s economy means investing in our public education system. He is tired of seeing partisan politics leave our state ranked at the bottom for teacher pay, cut per-pupil spending, and prevent the success of our children. With almost 693,000 children enrolled in our public schools, it is vital for our state leaders to make education a priority. Will and his wife, Sherri, are dedicated to our community and our schools. As a member of the Windsor Hills PTA, Will wants to ensure that every child has a chance at a first class education. He will push for incentives for teachers, reduced classroom sizes, and an efficient use of school funding because Will believes in a better Oklahoma for our kids.
  • Healthcare: Thousands of Oklahomans are still uninsured and Will wants to work to change that. As a community healthcare advocate, Will knows that all Oklahoma families deserve more access to medical services. Our state’s refusal to accept federal healthcare dollars is holding our state back and leaving our families vulnerable. Will believes that more needs to be done to provide our veterans and senior citizens with the resources and care that they deserve. In a time where state leadership wants to cut mental health services, Will wants to work for more mental health funding and improvements. Will is the representative that our community needs to fight for a healthier Oklahoma.
  • Leadership: Will knows that in Oklahoma there isn’t just a budget problem - we have a leadership problem. Our 1.3 billion dollar budget deficit is forcing many deep cuts to essential state services. While many Oklahoma families still struggle to make ends meet, our current leadership continues to give out tax credits and cuts to big corporations and the wealthy. Will is ready to end the influence of special interests and wants to focus on making our state government work for hard-working Oklahomans. Instead of wasting time and taxpayer dollars on meaningless legislation, we can trust Will to fight for more transparency and accountability in our government. Will has the experience we need to get our state back on the right track.[1]
