Chad Brown (Democratic Party) was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 60. He assumed office on January 11, 2016. He left office on November 18, 2025.

Brown (Democratic Party) won re-election to the Louisiana House of Representatives to represent District 60 outright in the primary on October 14, 2023, after the primary and general election were canceled.

Biography

Chad Brown, as of March 2020, lived in Plaquemine, Louisiana. He graduated from Plaquemine High School in 1988. Brown earned a bachelor of science from Louisiana State University in 1992 and a law degree from Southern University Law Center in 1996. Brown’s career experience includes working as an attorney.[1]

A primary election was held on October 24, 2015, with a general election held in districts where necessary on November 21, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was September 10, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. CDT.[2]

If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

Chad Brown (D), Thomas Gaudet (D), Mike Latino (R), and James Barker (I) faced off in the October 24 blanket primary. Brown and Barker advanced to the November 21 runoff election; however, Barker withdrew before it could take place, leaving Brown as the victor.[3][4][5]
