John Arthur Williams (Louisiana)
John Arthur Williams was a 2011 independent candidate for District 32 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He specifically listed "No Party" on his candidate filing.
Williams stated that he ran for office "because I feel that many of our rights are being infringed upon or outright taken away. If we are not willing to challenge the status quo no telling what will happen. I intend to speak out on many of the educational, social and regulatory issues facing our great state at this time."[1]
Elections
2011
Williams ran in the 2011 election for Louisiana House of Representatives District 32. He faced incumbent Dorothy Hill (D) in the primary election on October 22, 2011. Because Louisiana uses a blanket primary system, a candidate can be declared the overall winner of the seat by garnering 50 percent +1 of the vote in the primary.
