Campaign themes

2017

Krikorian highlighted the following statement on his campaign website:

I have passionately served as a member of the Glendale Board of Education since 2001. Through sound fiscal policies we have been able to minimize the impact of budget cuts from Sacramento and maintain and improve the quality of education in our schools.

During my time on the Board of Education, we have:

  • Maintained financial stability and reserves;
  • Kept ALL our teachers employed, despite budget cuts;
  • Improved student performance scores;
  • Gained national recognition for Glendale schools as top performers;
  • Recommended and implemented stronger safety and security measures;
  • Updated athletic fields and innovated our facilities with solar power;
  • Strengthened our career technical education and vocational opportunities;
  • Introduced Safe Routes to School – Walk to School Day;
  • Founding board member – Glendale Educational Foundation GEF.

After moving from Connecticut to Glendale in 1989, my wife Christine and I quickly became active members of the community, providing 26 years of service. Four of my five children have graduated from GUSD schools, and my youngest is currently a sophomore at Hoover High. As such, you can be sure there is nothing more important to me than the quality of education our children receive. Every decision I have made, and will continue to make, will be based on what is best for your children and mine.

Once again, I ask for your confidence in me to represent District B on our school board.

Thank you![11]
