On July 29, 2025, Tipsword announced he would not be seeking re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 105 in 2026 in order to run for Woodford County Sherif in Illinois. [1]
Biography
Dennis Tipsword Jr. was born in Woodford County, Illinois, and lives in Metamora, Illinois. Tipsword earned a B.S. in law enforcement administration from Western Illinois University. His career experience includes owning businesses and working as the chief deputy of the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office.[2]
