Campaign website
Harris' campaign website stated the following:
Issues
We will protect Election Integrity first during the registration process and focus on cleaning and securing the legacy of our Illinois history.
Our current Secretary of State has 30 days to decide if he will protect the public safety of our American people or if he will continue to protect the illegal drivers holding CDL license.
He does not believe in sharing info with other governmental, but this would be the perfect time to start as this would give the jobs back to the legal drivers holding CDLs.
In some areas, his office isn’t delivering on Fast Lane. Appointments. Rural areas like Macon and Jackson are neglected, with no nearby facilities. Kiosks exist in just 15 spots, mostly urban, leaving most of Illinois behind. And voter records on 1980s systems risk hacks. Lastly, we must keep our drivers safe by educating them on the rules of the road whether new drivers or old. Reading the basics is key. We need better; we deserve better.
My plan delivers:
First, faster services: Walk in DMV Service for everyone. Review feasibility of Drive Up for the busy individuals and convenience for moms who have the kids! I’ll bring self-service kiosks to all areas not just 15 locations, but across Illinois’s 102 counties, in libraries for one stop business, grocery stores, and community centers, for quick renewals in minutes. Review the applications for LLC's to expedite the process for business owners.
Second, fairer access: mobile DMV units will reach downstate, from Cairo to Rockford, to serve all Illinoisans. Enforce internal controls focusing on policy and governance. As a union steward in Local 15, will review job descriptions to focus on productivity and help promote drive through services.
Third, modernize with innovative technology for all: a unified online portal will streamline services, maintaining cyber security keeping your data safe while focusing on smart rules of the roads to keep our families safe.
