Hired by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley in 2018, Samuel Pierce helped make history in again after he was hired by Julia Mejia 2019, and she won by one VOTE. He now works for Ihassane Leckey2020 #MA04.
  • Low Income Housing (e+) Buildings dovetailed with a Rent to OWN Housing Program
  • Early Education + Vocational Education + Raise the minimum wage to $20 per hour + Restore Time and a Half on Sundays + Holidays
  • Mass Health for ALL Post COVID-19 + State Job Fairs + State Internship Program + Provide a Nurse in EVERY public school in MA
HOUSING = HEALTHCARE. We must raise the minimum wage to $20 dollars an hour, and restore time and a half on Sundays and holidays, in accordance with the Massachusetts Blue Laws. I am running for the MA 1st Suffolk State Senate Seat because I am a Human Rights Advocate, and want to make positive change. I am not a lifelong politician whose parent was also a politician. Unlike my opponent who said he would have voted against healthcare back in 2010, I am the only candidate who will fight to ensure we finally have Mass Health for ALL Post COVID-19. I think we need change.

The New Jim Crow is not only The Cradle to Prison Pipeline, built upon the inability to read in the 4th and 5th grade, but it also has to do with health disparities, low voter turn out, and the absence of economic resources. We need to look at why the United States at only 5% of the world's population, has over 25% of the world's incarcerated population. Massachusetts is one of the (10) states originally named in default of Section 4 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Massachusetts is also where the practice of Gerrymandering as a form of Black + Brown voter suppression originally began. We must therefore restore a prisoner's right to vote in 2020, in accordance with the Massachusetts Constitution.
I look up to US Senator Elizabeth Warren, US Senator John Kerry, US Senator Mo Cowan, Governor Deval Patrick, US Vice President Joe Biden, and US Senator Kamala Harris. The person's example who I would like to follow would probably be Governor Deval Patrick, because had he not hired me as a college intern back in February 2020 on his US Presidential Campaign, and had I not graduated college or successfully completed the DigiUL Graphic Design Program, I would not have had the courage to run for office myself for the Massachusetts 1st Suffolk State Senate District to ensure we provide Mass Health for ALL Post COVID-19.
I would read the book "The Boston Hustler" written by Daniel Swindell, as well as the Autobiography of Malcolm X. Then I would read Governor Deval Patrick's autobiography, as well as the autobiography of US Senator Kamala Harris.
Punctuality, integrity, and character. I think that before you can represent others in the community, one must have their own sense of self worth, and be prepared to carry themselves with distinction in the local community.
I am very organized, and punctual when it comes to attending important community meetings in the MA 1st Suffolk State Senate District.
The core responsibilities that I plan to bring to the MA 1st Suffolk State Senate Seat if I am elected TODAY, September 1, 2020 are constituent services, and a district office out in the community. Many of the voters in the MA 1st Suffolk State Senate District often feel disconnected from the people who work at 24 Beacon Street due to the geographic realities of Boston, MA as well as the problem with high density automobile traffic during business hours.
I would like to raise the life expectancy in Boston from 57 to 87 within my 1st term in elected office.
After seeing President Barack Obama in 2013 at the Reggie Lewis Center rally at my school, I graduated from Roxbury Community College. However, not before I met US Vice President Joe Biden while working for US Congressman Seth Moulton back in 2014. I then went on to work for US Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley in 2018, helping her become the 1st Woman of Color ever elected into US Congress from MA. In 2019 I was hired by Boston City Councilor Julia Mejia to help her become the 1st Latina Woman to ever get elected to the Boston City Council. In 2020 I was hired by US Congressional Candidate Ihassane Leckey to help her become the 1st Woman of Color ever elected to the Massachusetts 4th US Congressional District. In 2020 I also was able to secure enough signatures to get myself on the Democratic Primary Ballot for the Massachusetts 1st Suffolk State Senate District. I was (38) thirty eight years old at the time of the September 1, 2020 Primary Election.
My very first job was a summer job that I got working at Northeastern University. My job was to file papers, give people directions around the campus, and answer the phone for the then Dean of Students, Keith Motley. The job lasted only three months. However, in February 2020 Dr. Keith Motley, now the CEO of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, presented me with my official DigiUL Graphic Design Certification that allowed me to design the logo for my campaign.
Building up enough courage to become a VOICE for those who are often left behind, marginalized, and forgotten.
The "Great Cod" and the Herring. Massachusetts is unique in the fact that both of our legislative houses tend to be dominated by The Democratic Party. However, the voters of Massachusetts tend to vote Republican for the Gubernatorial Seat historically.
Not necessarily, because I think having new voices, and different experiences creates the diverse Massachusetts State Legislature that makes our Commonwealth unlike any other state in America. Massachusetts is one of the only, if not the only state where any US Citizen can write their own legislation into law. There is a process of course, but once I am elected I plan to include civics classes back into ALL Massachusetts Public High Schools Post COVID-19.
Our state's greatest challenges over the next decade, are fixing our education system, and dismantling The Cradle to Prison Pipeline. By teaching our 4th and 5th grade nine and ten year olds how to read and write, we can rebuild The American Dream in this country Post COVID-19. We must provide a foundation, so that our youth can eventually join the emerging technology labor force, allowing Boston, MA to become the East Coast version of the hub of innovation happening in California, just like when Boston, MA changed the world with the invention of the telephone, and the conference call.
The ideal relationship would be a symbiotic relationship between the Governor and the State Legislature, that allowed the citizens of the Commonwealth to be heard. A transparent relationship, that allowed the citizens of the Commonwealth equal access to their government officials no matter their economic background, or skin completion. A gender neutral camaraderie where we treated male and female state employees with equal pay for equal work.
Yes, I think networking is very important both in business, and in life. After graduating from Roxbury Community College, Samuel Pierce was hired first, as a college intern for The Committee to Elect Maura Healey in 2014, and then hired as a Field Organizer for US Congressman Seth Moulton's campaign, in coordination with the Massachusetts Democratic Party in 2014. After being behind the scenes as a community activist, Samuel Pierce became an entrepreneur and paid community advocate after being hired by US Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley in 2018, to help run her Special Operations. Most recently, Samuel Pierce helped make history again after he was hired by Boston City Councilor Julia Mejia to successfully close out her GOTV Strategy in 2019, winning by one VOTE.
I believe that we should develop a more equitable process to allocate registered voters by ward and precinct instead of preconceived, maps that lead to voter suppression. Instead of Gerrymandered puzzle pieces, the entire City of Boston should be redrawn after the US Census by Ward and by Precinct. Then, and only then, could there be a baseline to redraw the map for the state representative, state senate, and hopefully add a (10th) tenth US Congressional Seat to Massachusetts after the 2020 US Census.
As the Founder of The Boston Green Project in 2018, prior to the introduction of the Democratic Green New Deal in 2019, I would want to be on the Emerging Technologies + The Environment + Energy Committee. As the Founder of SIP = Schools Instead of Prisons Inc., I would also like to be on the Judicial + Government Operations + Criminal Justice Committee. As the Founder of The Boston Saving Lives Project I would last like to be on the Healthcare Committee.
Yes, I think we must lead by example, so I would like to be a Committee Chairman in the Massachusetts State Senate.
Yes, I would like to model myself after a blend of (3) three state senators, Bill Owens, Barack Obama, and William Brownsberger.
Not a this time. I am laser focused on helping the people of the Massachusetts 1st Suffolk State Senate District get the resources that they deserve.
Yes, I spoke to a mother who owns her own business. However, due to COVID-19 it is hard to find childcare for her 4 year old daughter, find a tutor for her 12 year old son due to the fact BPS schools are now reopening remotely, and still talk to customers while she is running her own business. As an entrepreneur myself, I know we can build a partnership via our local religious institutions to help tutor some of our local youth who are not yet accustomed to learning remotely via BPS.
