I am a hardworking, laser-focused, and goal-oriented person who never gives up. I have worked three years in the state legislature, interned at the White House under the Obama Administration, and I have my J.D. from Michigan State College of Law. While working in the state legislature I have witnessed everyone’s recent struggles and how Michigan needs to implement innovative policies to meet those struggles. I am worried that the opportunities I had to succeed aren’t there anymore. We need to work harder to keep our talent in Michigan and invest in the future generations of Michigan leaders. My passion for Michigan and my experiences are why I believe I will be an effective voice in the state house.
  • Roads: Michiganders are tired of hitting potholes and immediately wondering if they have a flat tire. We need to provide the right policy necessary to improve our road quality and reduce commute times. we are on the right path to improve this problem; however, I plan to focus on properly maintaining our roads so they last 25 years rather than fully replacing our roads every 5 years.
  • Environment: Conservation in Michigan is key to having a well-balanced environment and place to call home. Michigan needs to implement stronger policies to ensure a safer relationship between our people and our environment.
  • Water: Our Great Lakes need to be protected, and we need to make sure our water stays clean and limit chemicals like PFAS. Additionally, our communities need to be better equipped to handle water main breaks and be proactive when it comes to water leaks in households. This past year has shown that water main breaks can go on for hours without being detected. It’s time that Michigan becomes a smart state by adopting smart water sensors in our community.
Government Transparency: It’s past due time Michigan finally implements legislation to expand Michigan's open records laws. Currently, Michigan legislators, the governor, lieutenant governor, and executive office employees are exempted from FOIA. Consequently, I support removing these exceptions and enacting the proper procedures and requirements for the disclosure of public records by all public bodies in our state.
