In an email submission to Ballotpedia, Luton described his political philosophy as follows:[1]
"We must return our focus to education and jobs in North Carolina, instead of the issues that divide us and hamstring our political process in Raleigh. I also believe in a district-wide philosophy of our counties. If we act as one district instead of 6 counties, we will be much stronger as a region."
