Campaign themes
2014
Gibbon's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[7]
Education
- Excerpt: "To accomplish this, David will work to end some of the unfunded mandates that our school districts face, and allow them more flexibility in budgeting and spending funds. Without the GI Bill, David would never have been able to afford higher education. He recognizes that this is a common struggle for our nation’s young adults and will make certain every student has the opportunity to better themselves through education."
Economy
- Excerpt: "In order to improve our economy, David knows that we need to attract businesses to our state, creating good, family-sustaining jobs. First and foremost, he will fight to lower Pennsylvania’s corporate net income tax – the highest in the nation. David will also work to provide incentives for businesses relocating to our state as well as to investors who support new businesses and start-ups."
Environment
- Excerpt: "David will ensure that natural gas extraction is not doing any damage to our environment, and that Pennsylvanians are getting their fair share of the profits. He will pursue additional measures to protect our community from flooding, and work with our local governments to make sure we are prepared for any natural disasters."
