Edward Blackmon Jr.
Edward Blackmon Jr. (Democratic Party) was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 57. He assumed office in 1984. He left office on January 2, 2024.
Blackmon (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Mississippi House of Representatives to represent District 57. He did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on August 8, 2023.
Blackmon served in the House previously, representing District 57 from 1979 to 1980.
Biography
Blackmon earned his B.A. from Tougaloo College and J.D. from George Washington University. His professional experience includes working as an attorney.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[2] Incumbent Edward Blackmon, Jr. was unopposed in the Democratic primary. No Republican candidates filed for election. Blackmon, Jr. ran unchallenged in the District 57 general election.
