Campaign themes
2014
Dowgiewicz's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
| “ | SMALL BUSINESS TAX INCENTIVES
In my term as a State Representative, I will support tax incentives to small businesses. If we intend to have a local robust economy, it is imperative that we give local businesses a chance to grow and survive, hire new employees and expand in our communities with the help of tax incentives. LOCAL AID As a future democratic legislator, I am determined to work diligently to get our fair share of local aid for the district. Being a democrat, I will be in the majority that will have the influence to increase funding for our communities. SUBSTANCE ABUSE IN OUR TOWNS Working diligently with a member of the Webster Board of Health Member, and my significant other, Nancie A. Zecco, MPH – on a project to help reduce substance abuse in our communities. These cutting edge programs consist of a Drug Court Program and a medication (once a month injection) to help with cravings and decrease the chances of the individual relapsing, coping centers for after detox, and help with funding to allow for epidemiological studies to determine the correlation between mental illness and substance abuse (and many more). We are also working with the schools to determine if we should start prevention as early as the fifth grade. If you would like more information on these growing programs, please contact me. We hope to start branching out to all communities soon. EDUCATION As a product of Massachusetts Public Schools, I know how important our teachers are in the development of our youth. As a legislator, I will support our public schools from pre-school through High School, and also our State Colleges/Universities. Providing a good quality education, with dedicated teachers is imperative for our children’s development and future. VETERANS, ELDERLY AND DISABLED INDIVIDUALS As your future State Representative, I will work diligently to make sure that benefits, tax breaks and subsidies will remain intact. It is imperative that benefits keep up with the cost of living so people can maintain a good quality of life.[2][3] |
