Evans issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:
| “ | I believe that the most significant problem facing Iowans today is a poor financial wellness. This is a result of a proliferation of low wages, unskilled labor as the norm, and a deficit of financial literacy. To change the economic landscape, Iowa needs to guarantee a living wage for all of its hard-working residents, drive economic development to improve the availability of skilled jobs while better preparing young people to do skilled work, and providing education to promote financial literacy and enable Iowans to make better informed, more responsible financial decisions. | ” |
