Michael Evans (Mississippi)
Michael Evans (independent) was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 45. He assumed office in 2012. He left office on January 2, 2024.
Evans (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Mississippi House of Representatives to represent District 45. He won in the general election on November 5, 2019.
On January 6, 2020, Evans announced he was leaving the Democratic Party to register as an independent.[1]
Biography
Evans' professional experience includes working as a battalion chief with the Philadelphia, Mississippi Fire Department and a fire chief with the Preston Volunteer Fire Department. He also owns and operates a poultry farm with his wife.

Elections for the Mississippi House of Representatives took place in 2015. A primary election was held on August 4, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[2] Incumbent Michael Evans defeated Clark Adams in the Democratic primary. No Republican candidates filed for election. Evans ran unchallenged in the District 45 general election.

On November 8, 2011, Evans won election to District 43 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He ran unopposed in the August 2 primary and defeated Republican incumbent Russ Nowell in the November 8 general election.[3][4]
