Biography
Steve Von Loor was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and lives in Durham, North Carolina. Von Loor’s career experience includes working as the owner of a translation company. He served as the chair of the Republican National Committee - Hispanics Initiative in Morrisville, as the treasurer of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly Capitol Area Chapter, and as the vice chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of North Carolina. He served as the national second vice chairman for the Republican National Assembly of the United States of America and as a council member for the North Carolina Governor of the Hispanic/Latino Affairs.[1]

| “ | I am personally passionate about policy that tries to create jobs and fight poverty. As someone who grew up in Ecuador, I have personally encountered true poverty. I cannot bear the thought of people in the U.S. living in similar circumstances. Due to this, I am passionate about economic policies that create jobs and lift people out of poverty without keeping them dependent on the government. I am also passionate about policies that fight corruption in politics because I have seen the effects of corruption firsthand. Too often we have representatives in Congress who are funded by interest groups. These groups and institutions encourage our representatives to enact policies that don't represent the people. For this reason I am interested in campaign finance reform. Furthermore, I am a staunch supporter of policies such as term limits which also fight corruption. We need to ensure that the people representing us in Congress are answering only to the people who elected them.
