Taylon wants to work on the issues that we face everyday: unaffordable housing, low wages, and a lack of transparency in our government.

When it comes to politics and leadership, Taylon is driven by a deep passion for connection and community. Taylon believes that we should ALL have a seat at the table, and that all our voices matter. Government should be about bringing us closer together, creating new avenues for us to care for each other, and for us to make decisions with each other.

Taylon is ready to take action on real, compassionate solutions that create good jobs, regenerate our land, foster safety and abundance, and bring our neighbors closer together in the process.
  • As someone who has dealt with the healthcare system personally, I am appalled by the lack of care and access people have to just take care of themselves and their loved ones. We shouldn't fear bankrupcy when we get sick. We shouldn't put off care because of cost. I will stand up against health profiteering, pharmaceutical companies profit gouging, and insurance companies that try and make money off sick people in appalachia. Our lack of mental health care facilities has contributed to the growing crime, addiction and homelessness across the region, let's fight for the respect our families all deserve.
  • Money in politics has led to the privatizing of prisons, continuing cannabis prohibition, harming our environment, and our most vulnerable. It has made college, healthcare and housing inaccessible to working families, and it is destroying our public education system. I believe no matter what party you are in, your background or district, we are all fed up.
  • I'm a true progressive, and an honest person. As a small business owner I am ready to fight for higher wages and better work conditions of workers so they can thrive.

A Just, Green Transition for NC

As a farmer and working class young person, Taylon recognizes we know that we can’t afford to keep waiting for corporations and for-profit politicians to save the day when it comes to a Just Transition away from fossil fuels and an extractive economy that doesn’t leave our most vulnerable neighbors behind.

We deserve good jobs, reliable transit, a liveable planet, and a future. All of those things are made possible with the Green New Deal and anything less is just delaying the inevitable and standing in the way of what we truly deserve.

One of Taylon's top priorities is reconnecting with and reinvesting in our communities. We deserve to have access to affordable, quality healthcare, treatment for mental health and substance abuse, affordable housing options, and a sense of belonging in our community.

As a small business owner and farmer, Taylon knows the kind of hard work, grit, and perseverance that are necessary to get by in this world. That's why Taylon's priorities include protecting our farmers, investing in good union jobs, ending corrupt anti-union laws, and lifting up our communities with a workforce dedicated to restoration and regeneration.

Taylon knows that real solutions will require more than just talking the talk and use hot words that look good on paper like “good jobs" and "Green New Deal in North Carolina.” She walks the walk and makes it happen, in her everyday life.
Losing our reproductive rights, our climate crises, and the current war on working class people. My top priorities includes shifting towards renewable energy, investing in good union jobs, ending corrupt anti-union laws, and lifting up our communities with a workforce dedicated to restoration and regeneration.
