Vernon Preston
Vernon Preston was a judge of the Ohio Third District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on January 2, 2007. He left office on February 8, 2021.
Education
Preston received his undergraduate degree from Findlay College and his J.D. from the University of Toledo.[1]
Military service
Preston served in the U.S. Navy for 31 years. He retired in 2003 with the rank of captain.[1]
Career
Preston began his legal career as a lawyer in Portsmouth, Ohio. After a short time, he moved back to Findlay, Ohio, and worked as an attorney and in various part-time positions. These included serving as a magistrate for the Findlay Municipal Court, as an assistant Hancock County prosecutor, and as a Findlay city prosecutor. Preston also previously worked as a corporate secretary and general counsel before joining the Findlay Municipal Court, where he served for 13 years, including eight years as the presiding and administrative judge.[1]
