In 2016, 162 statewide ballot measures were on the ballot in 35 states. Voters approved 117 (72%) and rejected 45 (28%) ballot measures.
Campaigns to support or oppose statewide measures on ballots in 2016 received $932.33 million ($932,327,422) in contributions to support or oppose statewide measures on ballots. California Proposition 61 received the most contributions in 2016 at $128.4 million.
