- Increase quality of life by focusing on whether families can afford to live where they work, feel safe in their neighborhoods. Improving our community requires practical and common sense solutions. That starts with preventing a toll from ever being put on Capital Blvd. We can strengthen quality of life by encouraging responsible growth that respects local communities, supports homeownership, protects farmland and open space, and invests in local infrastructure. Economic growth should be driven by small businesses, and a skilled workforce, not by government micromanagement. That mean ensuring accountability in government institutions, supporting parents and teachers not educational bureaucracy, and preparing students with practical skills.
- Lower the cost of living. I will work to lessen the tax burden on residents by implementing tax credits for first-time homebuyers, small business owners and by enhancing North Carolina’s child tax credit so that our next generation has their opportunity to achieve the American Dream. Freezing and eliminating property tax increases on senior citizens and veterans. I will fight to slash red tape to keep the government out of people's businesses and pockets, support ending taxes on tips and overtime, and prioritize improving our local infrastructure to bring more revenue and economic opportunities to Granville and Wake County. I will work to reduce energy bills by pursuing reliable and efficient forms of energy that lower bills quickly.
- Increase and maintain public safety. End cashless bail policies and reform magistrate oversight because violent criminals have no place on our streets and our community deserves to be safe from repeat offenders. I will increase funding and resources for law enforcement and those who keep our streets safe. Increase protection in vulnerable areas like schools, public transportation hubs, and other community areas. The public deserves effective safety standards, while increasing penalties for repeat offenders overall. We can’t afford to compromise when it comes to preserving the rule of law. At the same time, we should invest in proven prevention, mental health support, and reentry programs that can help reduce repeat crime as well.
Everyone deserves a fair shot at a good life and a future they can believe in, especially the next generation. Making life more affordable means cutting wasteful government spending, encouraging competition, and removing barriers that make it harder to buy a home, start a family, or launch a career. Public safety matters too, safe neighborhoods require supporting law enforcement and holding repeat offenders accountable so families can live without fear. But our government must also be transparent and accountable so people can trust how decisions are made and how tax dollars are used.
