James A. Brogan was a judge on the Ohio Second District Court of Appeals. He was elected to this position in 1980 (effective early 1981). He was re-elected to six-year terms in 1986, 1992, 1998 and 2004.[1][2][3] His term expired in February 2011. [4]

Education

Judge Brogan was born in 1939 in Chicago, IL. He earned his A.B. degree from Notre Dame University in 1961 and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1964. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967, including service in Vietnam. He was part of the Judge Advocate General Corps. He is now married and has three children.[3]

Career

Judge Brogan began his legal career in 1964 as a First Assistant County Prosecuting Attorney and private practice attorney. He held this position until his election to the Court of Appeals in 1980. He also serves on the Supreme Court Rules Advisory Committee.[3]
