As a life-long resident and community activist in the City of Pomona, the work I do in advocating for under-resourced neighborhoods plagued with gang violence led me to being a 25+ year member of the California School Employees Association through the Pomona Unified School District as the Senior Groundsman and the Pomona Parks & Recreation Commission.
  • Anti business-as-usual politics
  • Experienced in environmental/water sustainability through creating union jobs that support this
  • Resourcing our community in affordable housing, accessible health care, and jobs with thriving wages are the three components in ensuring our residents are able to have a good life.

All too often, politicians bend to Big Money that continuously puts communities in challenging situations. Commitment in not being beholden to special interest and community involvement in whatever legislation comes about the legislature should be the bare minimum.
Politicians have been losing the ability for elected officials to collaborate with others in the pursuit of a certain goal due to politics. My 13 years of experience as a Water District Director and the only union member candidate, has been indicative of my ability to reach across the aisle to accomplish the necessary things needed to help our community acquire the resources they need to be able to thrive.

It is beneficial for state legislators to have previous government experience due to the relationships they can leverage, but not necessary. As long as they are long-time members of the community and have local relationships to help shape policy, that alone will always benefit the community in which they represent.
Absolutely. The greatest challenges are never overcome alone, and since legislators come from different backgrounds, it is possible that they have experience that should be considered when overcoming said challenges.
Yes, as long as values are respected and the commitment to achieving a common goal is established.
