My name is Michael Lamb, I grew up the son of a bricklayer in a solid middleclass neighborhood. I went to Padua High School, and eventually graduated from Tiffin University with a degree in Criminal Justice. I spent 25 years as a police officer, first in the City of Cleveland, then the City of Shaker Heights.

As a police officer I served the community by assisting people with day-to-day issues in their lives. This has given me the real world understanding as to what is important to people, which is feeling safe and secure. This can be applied to most issues, whether it be a good job, quality education, or well functioning law enforcement.

As a legislator, I believe any bill should answer three important questions; 1. Will this produce good jobs? 2. Will it give a better opportunity for a superior education? 3. Will it fully support, fund and train law enforcement?

As a 20 year resident of Westlake, my wife and I chose to raise our family here.
I have been involved with local government by serving on a local board, and representing my precinct. By working with my Mayor and City Council I learned that the best way to do the job well is to be frugal and use long range planning to effectively use the state's resources.
  • I am running to make sure that Cuyahoga County is no longer ignored in Columbus. The building blocks are still in place t make this the center of business growth in the country.
  • We need to remove unnecessary bureaucratic red tape. Make it simple for small business to be formed, current business to grow here, and business that which to move here find an easy path to do so.
  • We must provide our children with the opportunity for a superior education. This can be both through college prep class, or skilled trades. We should partner with business, both blue collar and white collar to have internships starting in high school to give students an understanding of what it takes to achieve success when they leave school.
First, it is ALL ABOUT JOBS. Economic development is necessary to keep Ohio growing. With this it leads to a safer and secure Ohio.

Second it is about frugal budgeting. Proper planned spending will mean that the State will go into your pockets less to pay for projects necessary to keep Ohio prosperous, such as infrastructure improvements, broadband expansion, and public assistance projects.

Third fully support, fund and train law enforcement. I have worked in the poorest, most violent streets in Cleveland to some of the richest streets in Shaker Heights. By speaking to these residents, I learned that they all desire the same thing, to be safe and secure in their homes. This will not occur by defunding the police, that leads to harm to all communities. By fully funding law enforcement, the can be fully trained so they preform to the highest standards. Law enforcement needs our support . The vast majority are out there to protect and serve.
The 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence. They so believed in this country that they signed their own death warrant if they did not succeed.
Working as a Laborer for my father. This taught me the value of hard work, and determination.
