Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Misconduct allegations and resignation
Politico reported that one of Sauer's former girlfriends filed an official complaint with the Office of the Legislative Inspector General alleging that Sauer posted nude photos of her on Instagram without her consent. She claimed that Sauer used the account to "engage in graphic conversations of a sexual nature" with other men who believed they were speaking with a woman. The girlfriend also filed a police report with the Chicago Police Department, who began an active investigation into the claims.[7]
Sauer resigned following Politico's reporting. He wrote in a letter to the clerk of the House of Representatives, "It is important that the citizens of the 51st District be fully represented. My ability to fulfill my obligations as a State Representative and public servant will be affected by the distraction of addressing these allegations. After speaking with my family, I feel it best to step away from my public responsibilities."[7]
