John Beard (Iowa)
John Beard (b. November 4, 1951) was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 28 of the Iowa State Senate.
Beard was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 16th District from 2008 to 2010.
Beard is a businessman and farmer.
He serves as Director of the Driftless Chapter of Trout Unlimited, on Board Member with the Winneshiek County Conservation Board.[1]

Beard ran in the 2012 election for Iowa State Senate District 28. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012, and was defeated by Michael Breitbach in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3][4]

2010
Beard lost his bid for re-election to the 16th District Seat in 2010 to Bob Hager (R). Beard was unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[5]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Beard was elected to the 16th District Seat in the Iowa House of Representatives, defeating Randy Schissel (R).[6] Beard raised $158,907 for his campaign, while Schissel raised $104,910.[7]
