Negligent homicide charge
In April 2009, it was announced that Connecticut police wanted to charge O'Rourke with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the January 2009 death of Carol Sinisgalli. Sinisgalli, an employee of the state Department of Motor Vehicles, died of exposure in Rocky Hill on January 21.[3]
Criminally negligent homicide is a misdemeanor. If convicted, it is punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,000.
O'Rourke was the last known person to have seen Sinisgalli alive.
