John Parmele, Jr.
John Parmele, Jr. was an Independent candidate for Governor of Virginia in the 2013 elections. Parmele is a Navy retiree and was a 2009 Independent candidate for Virginia House of Delegates District 82.[1]

Parmele ran as a write-in candidate for election to the office of Governor of Virginia.[1] The November 5, 2013 general election was won by Terry McAuliffe in a close race with Ken Cuccinelli.

2009
Parmele received 4% of the vote in the general election on November 3, 2009, losing to incumbent Bob Purkey. Democrat Peter W. Schmidt also ran, receiving 35%.[2]
