Laura Manriquez was a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 8 of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Manriquez ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2012 and 2014.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Incumbent JoCasta Zamarripa defeated Laura Manriquez in the Democratic primary. Vincent Synowicz was unopposed in the Republican primary. Zamarripa faced Synowicz in the general election.[5][6][7] Incumbent Zamarripa defeated Synowicz in the general election, and was re-elected to another term.[8]

Manriquez ran in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 8. She was defeated by incumbent Jocasta Zamarripa (D) in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012.[9] No Republican has filed to run for this seat. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[10]
