McKinley James is originally from New Iberia, Louisiana. He is currently a Partner at The James Firm LLC. A law firm started by him and his wife, Taylor James. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Juris Doctorate degree from Southern University Law Center. As a practicing Attorney, McKinley has advocated for the rights of children and parents involved in the states foster care system. He has also facilitated many real estate transactions, often including first time homebuyers.

The first historical event that I can remember is 9/11. I was 14 at the time. I remember being worried about the nation's future.
