Scott Espeseth
Scott Espeseth was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 7 of the Wisconsin State Assembly.[1]
Campaign themes
2014
Espeseth's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
Growing Jobs
- Excerpt: "Politicians don't create jobs. Private business creates real jobs. Government needs to stay out of the way of business and help only when it should. Government can only help create an environment that is conducive to creating jobs. Businesses, entrepreneurs, and real people create the jobs that keep Wisconsin families strong."
Education
- Excerpt: "As your representative I want to be in a position to help the State of Wisconsin take over Milwaukee Public Schools. Teachers, students, and the community deserve a better school system. Many hard-working teachers go to work daily and risk getting assaulted, while students bare the brunt of the adverse effects of political squabbling."
Protecting Victims of Violence
- Excerpt: "As your representative I will revive past legislation designed to protect the victims of violent crime. It will set-up exclusionary zones so that when a violent criminal gets paroled, an automatic restraining order would be placed against them creating a "zone of protection" around the victim."
Badger Care Fund-Shifting
- Excerpt: "As your representative I will look for ways to utilize Badger Care to supplement the lost services that Medicare is no longer providing. People need better access to both treatment and prescription drugs. I will investigate ways to "fund-shift" money into Badger Care to improve access to these lost services."
