Heron ran in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 39. Heron was defeated by Mark Born in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012. Incumbent Republican Jeff Fitzgerald is running for the U.S. Senate. Jim Grigg ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
