Michael Cole (Ohio)
Michael D. Cole is an at-large member of the Columbus City Schools Board of Education in Ohio. He assumed office in 2014. His current term ends on December 31, 2025.
Cole (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Ohio House of Representatives to represent District 2. He did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.
Biography
Cole earned a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Ohio State University. He later earned a Master's degree in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University. Cole is the co-founder of Thoth Communications, Inc. and provides consulting services to nonprofits and political campaigns. He and his wife have three children.[1]

Three of the seven seats on the Columbus City Schools Board of Education in Ohio were up for at-large general election on November 7, 2017. Incumbents Michael Cole, Dominic Paretti, and Ramona Reyes defeated challengers Amy Harkins, Erin Upchurch, and Abby Vaile, who ran as a slate. The incumbents and the slate of challengers were affiliated with Democratic-leaning positions. Two Republican-affiliated candidates (Zach Amos and Seth Golding) ran but lost in the May 2 primary.[2][3]
Harkins, Upchurch, and Vaile ran together as the Yes We Can slate.[4]
