Elections for the Iowa State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Tod R. Bowman was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while James R. Budde defeated James A. Heavens in the Republican primary. Bowman faced Budde in the general election[1][2] and incumbent Bowman defeated the challenger.[3]
