John Parrish was a judge on the Southern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He was appointed to this position on January 3, 1990, and retained by voters in 1992 and 2004. His term would have expired on December 31, 2016, but he retired from the court on September 1, 2009.[1][2]

Education

Judge Parrish was born on June 10, 1940, in Lebanon, Missouri. He received a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1962. He went on to receive his J.D. degree from the same school in 1965. From 1966 to 1968, he served in the U.S. Army. He is now married and has one son.[1]

Career

Judge Parrish began his legal career in 1968 as a member of the law firm Phillips and Parrish. He worked there as a prosecuting attorney from 1969 to 1973. He was then appointed circuit judge of the 26th Judicial Circuit, a position he held until his appointment to the court of appeals.[1]
