Anthony Rex Gabbert is a judge on the Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He was appointed by Democratic Governor Jay Nixon on April 3, 2013, to fill a vacancy on the court left by the retirement of James Smart. Gabbert was retained in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2026.[1]

Gabbert received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and his J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law.[1]
Career
Gabbert served as an associate circuit court judge from 1994 to 2004 and then as a circuit court judge from 2004 to 2013 for the Missouri 7th Judicial Circuit Court. He served as the presiding judge from 2008 until 2010. Prior to serving on the circuit bench, Gabbert was an attorney in private practice and a municipal judge for North Kansas City, Missouri. Gabbert also served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Clay County and as a city prosecutor in Gladstone, Missouri. Gabbert has also served as an adjunct professor at William Jewell College, Rockhurst University, Park University, Ottawa University, Mid-America Nazarene University, and Penn Valley Community College.[1]
