Bill Janis
Bill Janis was a 2015 Republican candidate for District 12 of the Virginia State Senate.[1]
Janis is a former Republican member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 56 from 2002 to 2012.
Biography
Janis' professional experience includes working as an attorney. Prior to his election to the House, he worked as a lobbyist for the Family Foundation, political director of Cantor for Congress, and legislative aide/campaign manager for Delegate Paul Harris.[2]
Janis earned his B.A. in English/History from the Virginia Military Institute in 1984 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1999.

Elections for the Virginia State Senate took place in 2015. A primary election was held on June 9, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[4] Deborah Repp was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Siobhan Dunnavant defeated Edward Whitlock, Vince Haley and Bill Janis in the Republican primary. Robert "Scott" Johnson ran as a third party independent candidate. Dunnavant defeated Repp and Johnson in the general election.[5]
2011
Janis announced he would not seek re-election in 2011, choosing to instead run for the Henrico County Commonwealth’s attorney position.[6]
2009
In 2009, Janis was re-elected to the Virginia House of Delegates.[7]
