Riddoch stated the following about her political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia.[1]
"The concerns of my constituents always take precedence over the interests of political parties and lobbyists. All around us, we see the special interests of an influential few drowning out the needs of ordinary citizens. I have a different vision for Utah, and I am asking for help in realizing the dream of a more perfect union!"

Riddoch ran for election in the 2012 election for Utah House of Representatives District 74. Riddoch was unopposed in the June 26 Democratic primary and was defeated by incumbent V. Lowry Snow (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
