Carl Oehling was a 2016 U.S. Taxpayers Party candidate for District 79 of the Michigan House of Representatives. He ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2014.

Elections for the Michigan House of Representatives took place in 2016. The primary election was held on August 2, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was April 19, 2016. Incumbent Al Pscholka (R) did not seek re-election because of term-limits.

Elections for the Michigan House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Eric Lester was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Al Pscholka defeated Cindy Duran in the Republican primary. Carl Oehling ran as a U.S. Taxpayers Party candidate. Pscholka defeated Lester and Oehling in the general election.[4][5][6][7]

2012
Oehling ran in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 79. He was an Independent candidate with the U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan and was defeated by incumbent Al Pscholka (R) general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[8]

Oehling ran for election to the District 79 seat in 2010. Oehling was defeated in the general election on November 2, 2010.[9]
