I'm a seamstress by trade, serve woman as a doula and have worked retail for 4.5 yrs. I've studied American government and public policy with the Leadership Institute, Forge Leadership Academy, Passages, Joliet Police Citizens Academy and AIPAC. I've volunteered for organizations like IFI, Southside Pregnancy Center, Chicago House of Prayer, New Life Community church and my local neighborhood group, the Cathedral Area Preservation Association. I'm in my second year of running Stitched Silhouette, an alterations and sewing business offering custom made clothing, alterations and sewing lessons. Originally from Chicago, I moved to Joliet in 2017 for reasons that so many have left Chicago, less taxes, less crime and more job opportunity. I'm happy to have moved here and have no regrets. As I have learned from people in my community and have heard their stories, my hope is to serve this community well. My neighbors want to retire, make a decent living and live safely. I am running for State Representative to be a public servant, serve my community, advocate for my neighbors, and work for solutions. That is why I will decline a pension if elected as Sate Representative of the 86th district. This isn't about money, this is about service.
  • Pension- The looming pension crisis needs to be addressed. Government employees stacking pensions does not help the pension system. Addressing this would alleviate pressure off of the private sector. That is why I will be declining a pension as State Representative of the 86th district of Illinois.
  • Taxes- Need I say more? People are leaving by the thousands to more tax friendly states. Cutting unnecessary spending, addressing our pension crisis and paying off debt is legislation I will advocate for. If it's not good for individuals to be in debt, it's not good for our state.
  • Roads and Bridges- What needs to be said? If you've ever driven down any roads or bridges in Illinois’ 86th distinct you would know. Advocating for the funds, communicating with the community leaders and supporting the workforce to get the job done will propel our community to growth.
Public safety- Repeal the SAFE-T Act

Lowering taxes- Proper funding for what the state Illinois is obligated to fund so counties don't need to compensate by raising taxes

Infrastructure- To propel the economy forward

Understanding, communicating and advocating with constituents. (meeting with constituents, answering emails, answering phone calls, etc.)
Voting and participating in all levels of legislature. (attending and participating in committee meetings, writing bills, attending meeting etc.)
Public servants are still here.

Politicians serve their communities well and go above and beyond for their constituents and beyond.
Raise the standard for what a public servant could do for the community.

Justice, mercy, honor, and fear of God still exist.

I remember my mom calling myself and my sister down to watch the live footage from New York.
My first jobs where creative entrepreneur efforts. Babysitting, sewing, selling on craigslist etc. My first 9-5 was as a team member at Joann Fabrics and Crafts in Joliet. I moved on to teach sewing lessons and become a key manager.
Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink
To achieve a goal, a leader must take responsibility for themselves first, then the team. Leaders effectively communicate and set the standard to achieve the mission.
