As a student-athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and basketball captain, I appreciated and honored my role as a leader. I learned how to compete and work hard on and off the court. It was at this time as a young man time I decided the direction of my life. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies and I've spent three decades studying and working to improve families' lives ever since.

I know families need a strong foundation to be successful. Jobs, Healthcare and Housing. Once you are able to feed and clothe your family, keep them healthy and have a roof over your heads for shelter, then and only then, can a family begin to reach their potential.

For three decades I have worked to help families and now its time for me to write the policies and the laws to make sure all families have a strong foundation. When we achieve this, our communities, state and country grow stronger. I want to lead families to a better life. I want to return to Madison and fight for the families of the 75th and the state of Wisconsin.
  • Families need clothing and food, Good paying Jobs support successful families. JOBS
  • Families need affordable healthcare to be physically well and to be in good spirits. Families and communities need healthcare to keep the economy running. HEALTHCARE
  • Families need affordable housing to keep a roof over their heads, to have a shelter to weather any storm. HOUSING
We need to tackle all three of the foundation pieces for families. Jobs, Healthcare, Housing. Within each of these other public policies will fit. A prime example is broadband.

Broadband fits into jobs as more and more businesses need broadband to compete in the world. Workers who were able to do work from home need broadband. Many of our healthcare needs can be met with broadband. Rural patients can meet with doctors virtually instead of in person. Broadband is needed in our homes for our children to access school work and to improve the education of not just children but adults as well to be lifelong learners.

Education fits into all three. Businesses need talented workers who have the skills to produce products for the worldwide market. Education helps families is needed to produce the healthcare workers in each community. Education raises the value of homes and when you have a successful school system its reflected in the housing of the community.

Good policy will help families achieve the basic foundation they need to not just survive but begin to thrive. I will work to help families of the 75th with their foundations so they can then truly have a base to grow upon.
My mother and father. They know the value of hard work and being humble. They also know the joy of giving and how blessed they are.
Fight for what is right and just in the world. The last book I read I just put down. Hell in the Pacific: A Marine Rifleman's Journey From Guadalcanal to Peleliu by Jim McEnery with Bill Sloan. As I came to the end of the book, I not only read and pictured in my mind, but more importantly, I physically felt in my heart the sacrifice made by young Americans for the soul of our country. A historic read, enjoy.
To care for all families in the community so they have the best opportunity to be successful.
I remember seeing F-4 Phantoms on TV while very young and learning about Vietnam. Its one of my first memories.
Ahh, the heat from the hot plates and dishes off the HOBART dishwasher. I was always thankful for the silverware, you knew that was the last load.
