Larry DeShazor was a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 61 from 2009 to 2011.

Rep. DeShazor obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans. In November 2008, he became one of two African American Republicans elected to the Michigan House of Representatives since 1904. DeShazor is a former Team Manager at State Farm Insurance. He began his career on the east side of the state years ago, but soon moved to Portage. He is an avid pilot, and is married to Yvon. They have two children, Ricky and Jaron, and one grandchild, Marissa.

DeShazor did not run for re-election to the House, although he was eligible to do so. Instead, Larry ran for the 20th District Senate seat, and lost to Tonya Schuitmaker by a margin of 5,660 to 15,602 in the August 3 Republican primary election.

On November 4, 2008, Larry DeShazor ran for District 61 of the Michigan House of Representatives, beating Julie Rodgers.[1]
