I am an Arlington young husband, condo renter, youth coach, precinct captain, dog-father, Chief of Staff for a state senator, and owner of a consulting firm that prioritizes recruiting and assisting candidates in races left unattended by Party leadership. This year, I've assisted in successfully recruiting candidates in every Florida state legislative district for the 2020 election cycle. After completing my degree in Political Science and minoring in Criminal Justice, & Religious Studies at VCU in Richmond, my then-fiancée, now-wife and I chose Ballston as the place to begin our family. Since then, I've coached over a dozen flag football and youth basketball teams in Arlington and have become a frequent volunteer in the community, including for the local anti-poverty organization, Arlington Thrive. In the final four days of the 2017 gubernatorial election alone, I knocked over 1,000 doors to help elect our Democratic Governor. Since 2017 alone, I've traveled the state recruiting candidates, organizing, and raising over $275,000 to help Democrats win all three statewide offices, the State Senate, and House of Delegates.

I'm running for this office because I'm not only already an effective law-maker and team-player, but the kind of visible community leader the district deserves.

  • Having a district in which there is effectively no election for over a decade is detrimental to maximizing turnout.
  • Current events show that we need more young people and especially young people of color in office.
  • I am already already experienced in getting things in Richmond with over six years of legislative experience - more than some current elected members of the House.

I am a tireless political mind who combines the legislative, advocacy, and organizing skills necessary not only to win the Democratic nomination, but to inspire a new brand of voter to join the process.
The core responsibilities of the person occupying this office are to champion progressive causes and to raise money for other candidates as the general election is the primary election in this district.
My very first job was manning the counter at my dad's small business, "The Car Alarm Shop" as early as six years old with my sister. I've been working since I was a very young man, including at the local Buffalo Wild Wings, Men's Warehouse, and all of the work history that can now be found on my LinkedIn.

The State Senate is significantly older in terms of age and in thinking. The House has been refreshed with many true progressive candidates in recent years and other people of good will who understand that we have fundamental issues to confront in the Commonwealth.
This is a relationship business. The ability to build coalitions isn't exclusive to people in the world of politics, but it's a prerequisite for anyone to be successful. Individuals who believe they're going to impose their will on others end up very frustrated in this arena.
We, as many states, have to confront the fundamental issues that lead to economic inequality. Summoning the political courage to even the scales for working people. My plan provides hundreds of millions in tax savings for working families while providing additional state revenues.

The relationship between the Administration and the legislature is paramount. In my experience, the Administration can provide extra political will to get something done and it can also advise against legislation when there is executive authority that can be exercised in lieu of a change in Code.
This is a relationship business. I have been in this world for the better part of the last decade - which will make me effective on Day 1. Having the ability to call people at odd hours to lean on their subject-matter expertise is hugely important.
I prefer true non-partisan redistricting that doesn't allow partisan hacks to determine district boundaries considering their political futures.

I am already working to recruit candidates in every single legislative district next year. In 2019, we only got to 92 out of 100. I already have 4 candidates lined up (as of July 15) to run. I would like to be involved in recruitment in an official capacity and in a position to make sure they have the requisite funding to get out the vote.
I learned a lot from my current boss, Sen. Dave Marsden. Although we have policy differences, his way of listening to everyone - whether they agree with him or not is the kind of servant leader that is needed in office. I also draw inspiration from President Obama in that his diverse experiences allow him to speak to a variety of audiences without having to pander or speak out of both sides of his moth.
