Dempsey ran in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 7. Dempsey was defeated in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012. She faced Beyonca Johnson, Chris Welch and Rory Hoskins. No candidates filed to run in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
2010
Dempsey ran in the 2010 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 7. Dempsey was defeated by Democratic incumbent Karen Yarbrough in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4][5]
