I am a current Rushville City Councilman and COO of an independent, family pharmacy. I sit on the Chamber of Commerce board of directors, the Rushville Coordinating Council (community development), and the Brown/Schuyler County CEO program board of directors. I am focused on providing the best quality of life for the people in our district while helping the State of Illinois take a positive path towards future growth. As a father, I want the best for our children and their education. That is why I will focus on supporting our rural schools and their programs. As a small business owner, I understand the struggles that come with operating a business in today's climate and in the state. I will work to create better incentives for our small businesses that will create support and growth in our communities as well as new job opportunities. I will also focus on developing a more affordable and accessible healthcare option. We need to remove the insurance companies and drug manufacturers from the decision making and force them to make their costs more accessible to everyone.
I am very focused on addressing policies that surround healthcare costs and prescriptions costs. I also would like to focus on funding and supporting our rural K-12 schools and programs as well as our higher education (WIU, Spoon River Community College, etc.) and trade schools.
I have always looked up to my father. He is a hard-working, blue-collar person who did everything he could to provide for his family but what sets him apart is his caring nature and overwhelming support that he has given me in every endeavor for the last 40 years. He always taught me that it doesn't matter where you come from. It's who you are and how you treat people that matters.
I feel that our job as a State Representative is to serve the people in our district. We need to be available to them, hear their needs and focus on providing a better quality of life through both small and large scale projects.
I have always subscribed to the thought of "leave a place in better shape then which you found it" I hope to be seen as someone who genuinely cares for the people of this district.
The Challenger shuttle explosion. I was in 3rd or 4th grade watching it live with my classmates.
Worked for the Winnebago County Highway Department is high school over 2 summers.
I am a kid at heart and still love Superman to this day. So Superman.
Johnny Cash - When the Man Comes Around
Taking on too much at times because I want to do everything for everyone.
I do not think that is it necessary to have that experience but I will say personally I feel that my experience in local government is helpful in understanding what small communities go through at that level and it gives me a basis to work off of in order to help other communities thrive.
Absolutely. I believe that even in differences those relationships generate new ideas and allows for common ground to be reached.
