The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[2] Jennifer B. Boysko was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Danny Vargas was unopposed in the Republican primary. Paul Brubaker ran as an independent candidate. Boysko defeated Vargas and Brubaker in the general election.[3][4]
