Patrick J. Walsh was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He was first appointed to this court on July 18, 2001. He retired from the court in 2020.[1]

Biography

Education

Walsh earned a B.A. in psychology from Northern Illinois University in 1981. He received a joint J.D. and M.B.A. from The John Marshall Law School in 1985.[1]

Career

Walsh was a law clerk to Judge Alex Munson in the U.S. District Court for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands in Saipan. He was also a law clerk to Judge Alfred Laureta. From 1989 to 1992, Walsh was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. In 1992, he became an assistant United States attorney in the Central District of California. He worked as an assistant U.S. attorney until 2001, when he joined the Central District of California as a federal magistrate judge.[1]
