Rosetta Brown is a lifelong resident of Alton, Illinois, loving mother of 3, proud grandmother, dedicated foster parent to nearly 200 children and devoted wife for 24 years to the late Mr. Milton Brown. Her life’s work has been rooted in service through family, faith, and public leadership. As Alderwoman for Alton’s Fourth Ward, Rosie has championed youth programs, peace initiatives, and transparent governance, always showing up for her community with compassion and accountability.

Rosie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Greenville University and a Master’s in Human Resources from National Louis University. She has also completed doctoral coursework in Education at the University of Phoenix, reflecting her deep commitment to lifelong learning and educational equity.

Her leadership style is shaped by her experience as a foster mother, where she witnessed firsthand the gaps in education, mental health, and housing systems. Rosie believes in practical policy that meets people where they are and she’s ready to bring that philosophy to Springfield.

Rosie is running for Illinois State Representative - District 111 to turn things around for families, youth, and seniors across the region. Her campaign is built on listening, action, and bold solutions for real challenges. From mental health and education to economic opportunity and housing security.

Rosie Brown is not just a candidate—she’s a bridge.

Let’s turn this around, together.
  • ❋ Mental Health & Wellness

The Issue Families across District 111 are experiencing rising mental health challenges — from anxiety in our classrooms to isolation among seniors. Too many people are waiting months for care or going without help entirely.

    ❋ Jobs & Economic Opportunity

    The Issue

District 111 is full of hardworking people — but wages aren’t keeping up, and too many young people feel they have to leave to succeed.
  • ❋ Education & Youth Empowerment The Issue Our educators are stretched thin, our classrooms are crowded, and students deserve more opportunity — not fewer options. ❋ Infrastructure & Environment The Issue Aging infrastructure and environmental challenges affect daily life — from flooded streets to unsafe water lines.
  • ❋ Revitalization & Safe Communities The Issue People want to feel safe in their homes and proud of their neighborhoods — without fear or neglect. ❋ Technology & Innovation The Issue Access to technology and broadband should not depend on your zip code.
I’m most passionate about public policies that improve daily life for families in District 111. That starts with mental health access, health care, and expanding community‑based services is foundational to safety, education, and stability. I’m also deeply committed to economic fairness and workforce opportunity. Strengthening unions, rebuilding local industry, and ensuring young people can find good jobs here at home are central to my work. Another key passion is youth development and safe communities. Finally, I’m focused on infrastructure, clean water, and environmental resilience. These are not luxuries; they’re the basics that determine quality of life in our homes and our cities.
