Kimberly Jolson
Kimberly A. Jolson is a federal magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She was first appointed to this position on February 10, 2016. Her current term expired on February 9, 2024.[1]
Biography and Education
Judge Jolson was born in Chicago, Illinois. She received her bachelor's degree, summa cum laude with honors, from Ohio State University in 2001 and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 2006.[1]
Career
Judge Jolson began her career in private practice in 2006. In 2008, she joined the appellate section as a deputy solicitor in the office of the Ohio attorney general. From 2009 to 2010, she was a law clerk to the Hon. R. Guy Cole Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. She also taught appellate advocacy as an adjunct professor at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. In 2010, Judge Jolson re-entered private practice until her appointment to the federal bench as a magistrate judge.
